This rare Dior Saddle belt bag is crafted from white grained leather and dates to 2005, confirmed by the original Dior card included with the piece. It features the iconic asymmetric Saddle silhouette with a curved flap, adjustable belt strap, and polished silver-tone hardware finished with the signature Dior “D” charm. A back zip pocket adds a subtle functional detail, though this piece is very much designed as a styling accessory rather than a practical bag.

The grained leather gives the bag a slightly more robust, everyday feel while keeping the unmistakable early-2000s Dior look. Worn low on the hips, this style reflects the body-conscious, fashion-led accessories that defined Dior under Galliano in the early 2000s.

Styling tip:
Style it low on the hips over tailoring, denim, or a blazer for a clear Galliano reference, or wear it simply over knits or a coat to keep it modern. It works best when styled a little relaxed rather than overly precise.

Head designer & era context

This piece was designed under John Galliano, who served as Creative Director of Dior from 1996 to 2011. The early-2000s period at Dior is defined by sensual silhouettes, sculptural accessories, and highly recognisable designs meant to be worn as part of a full look. The Saddle shape became one of the house’s most iconic motifs during this time, and belt-style bags like this were integral to the era’s styling language. Close to the body, fashion-first, and directional.

Why it made the cut

This is a more fashion-driven take on the Saddle than the standard shoulder bag. The confirmed 2005 date and original card make it especially appealing to collectors, while the belt-bag format keeps it relevant for modern styling. It’s a true Galliano-era Dior piece that feels very wearable today.
