Chanel CC Canvas & Leather Chain Shoulder Bag — 1990s

A beautifully aged 1990s Chanel shoulder bag in canvas with stitched tonal CC logo, contrasted by off-white leather panels and a chunky leather-woven chain strap.
This piece sits in that very interesting 90s Karl moment. When Chanel was experimenting with more relaxed, almost sporty silhouettes while still keeping strong house codes. Canvas bags with oversized stitched logos became part of the brand’s off-duty identity during that time.
The interior stamp is heat-printed rather than plaque-applied, and slightly irregular in placement. Something seen in earlier production runs where stamping wasn’t as mechanically uniform as later 2000s pieces. The hardware has the softer brushed gold tone typical of 90s Chanel rather than the brighter yellow gold of later years.
The canvas has gently lightened over time, creating a natural patina that actually adds dimension.
Made in Italy.

Styling tip:
This is not a “precious” Chanel. It’s the cool one.
I’d wear it with oversized tailoring, vintage denim, or even something very minimal and monochrome. The faded canvas makes it feel effortless. It’s especially good for summer. Linen, tanks, flat sandals.
Era: 1990s (Karl Lagerfeld era)
Material: Canvas body with leather trim and leather-woven chain strap
Color: Black (now more Charcoal grey) canvas with off-white leather trim, Brushed gold-tone hardware
Size: 36cm x 18cm
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Canvas shows light fading consistent with age, creating characterful patina. Leather trim shows no to minor wear. Interior clean. Structurally strong.
Authentication: Entrupy certificate available
Made in: Italy
Why it made the cut:
I love early Karl pieces that feel slightly imperfect. The softened canvas, the relaxed shape, the oversized CC. It feels like Chanel off duty. It’s confident without screaming.
